Top actress, Ruth Kadiri has taken to social media to call out Lagos State government, top media personality, Mo Abudu and others for failing to recognise her at the recently held Eko Star Film and TV Awards, despite her “hardwork.”
The actress further revealed that her name was once in the list, however just because she “doesn’t belong to a clique, she was overlooked and bypassed.”
She also congratulated the actresses who were recognised and given awards and also stated that she will not be pressure but will rather keep working hard.
Venting her annoyance, she wrote;
She wrote: “I am a film maker. I am a woman. I am a hardworking woman. I have faced the struggles every woman/filmmaker has faced. Did my name at any point pop up yes. But because I do not belong to a click (sic). Yet again I have been overlooked.
“I will not be pressured. I will keep working hard. @lagosstategovt @moabudu @ijayonah @nifsummit thanks for overlooking me and congrats to everyone who got recognized. 🎤 the film industry is controlled by women, so if you’re going to do it, do it right or don’t do it at all”
Among the actresses that gained recognition at the Eko Star Awards are; Ini Edo, Funke Akindele, Uche Jombo, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Kate Henshaw, among others.
