Since dropping the bombshell about what she went through at the UK Royal castle during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, there have been several reactions.
Meghan had raised a lot of allegations against the Royal family, by only exonerating Queen Elizabeth who she described as a wonderful personality.
“It’s a family business, right? So there’s the family. And then there are the people that are running the institution? Those are two separate things, important to be able to compartmentalize that because the Queen, for example, has always been wonderful to me.”
See some of the reactions below:
The two-hour interview was damaging to everyone in the British Royal family. This is hardly private.
They could have walked away and they could have just kept quiet about it all. Why does the world need to know this?”
It just becomes a really undignified tit for tat. Does the palace really want to get in to that?
There’s quite a lot more.
Royal biographer Penny Junor told BBC Radio 5 Live
It was a very soft-serving, soapy interview in Meghan’s favour – nobody asked her about her relationship with her father, no-one asked her about the astonishing fact that she only had one member of her family at her wedding.
Royal biographer Anna Pasternak told BBC Breakfast.
It’s sad that we had to see a woman on national TV say I contemplated suicide and nobody in the palace even bothered to help her – that they were more concerned about what Archie’s skin tone would be. And the fact that her own pain was weaponized against her.

This interview is an absolutely disgraceful betrayal of the Queen and the Royal Family. I expect all this vile destructive self-serving nonsense from Meghan Markle – but for Harry to let her take down his family and the Monarchy like this is shameful. #OprahMeghanHarry.
Let’s be clear: Prince Harry and his wife just spent two hours trashing everything the Queen stands for & has worked so hard to maintain, whilst pretending to support her. And they did it while her 99yr-old husband Philip is seriously ill in hospital. It’s contemptible.
A withering interview w/ Harry & Meghan via Oprah. The Kingdom which first brought slaves here 400yrs ago has their current racism outed in all its brutality—how black will her kids be? The Palace refused to provide security for her baby. Meghan, crushed, considered suicide. Wow.
