Nigerian rapper, Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, Popularly known as CDQ, has released an official statement after he was arrested by NDLEA officials for allegedly being possession of Cannabis.
This incident occurred on Wednesday, April 14, when the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, rounded up the rapper from his Lekki home after they got intelligence that he was in possession of the cannabis known locally as ”loud” which is a contraband.
However, the rapper denied being in possession of the illegal substance, hours later through a tweet he shared.
According to him, the allegations were “false accusations” and he also cursed those behind the allegations saying that their aim is to tarnish his image.
CDQ has also released an official statement stating that he has never being in possession of any illegal substance and has never trafficked or made use of any illegal substance.
The statement shared to Instagram reads;
“I have never been in possession of any illegal substance in whatever form, neither have I ever had any cause to process, traffic, sell or use any illegal substance.”
He added that he has instructed his lawyers to ensure that matter, including “defamatory statements by several persons” is “followed to a logical end.”
He also stated that he is committed to doing his best as a recording artiste as and also ensures to be a law abiding Nigerian.
