Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, a former Minister of Finance, on Monday had a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama,Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo and Zubair Dada, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,Iweala’s visit is believed to be connected to her bid to clinch the Director General of the World Trade Organisation job.
Okonjo-Iweala is running for the seat of the Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala advanced to the third and final round of the contest alongside the South Korean candidate Yoo Myung-hee.
President Buhari has given his support and that of his administration to her effort to clinch the position.
