As part of the roll=out plan for the COVID-19 vaccine, Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, was one of the senior government officials who received the jab on Monday.
This is following the vaccination of his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday.
Other senior government officials who received the jab at the State House Clinic in Abuja on Monday include the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd); the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
Professor Gambari received the jab at exactly 10:28 am after e-registration and filling out his vaccination card and sat for 15 minutes according to the routine of vaccination.
He was later presented with a vaccination card by the Chief Medical Director of the State House Medical Centre, Dr. Husain Munir.
The vaccine was administered on all of them by the Chief Nursing Officer of the State House Clinic, Esther Ibrahim.
Speaking afterward, Gambari said the vaccination was painless and that he followed the footsteps of President Buhari who demonstrated leadership alongside his deputy receiving the jabs on Saturday.
He therefore advised eligible Nigerians to take the vaccines, assuring that it’s safe, adding that that the more Nigerians are vaccinated the more we are safe.
Marwa also said the vaccine is painless and he feels good. While congratulating Nigerians that the vaccines are here, he urged Nigerians to take the vaccine stressing that soon the country will be COVID-19 free.
