23-yr-old Nigerian man fatally shot in the US 5 months after graduation

Police in Washington, D.C., USA, are currently investigating the killing of a 23-year-old Nigerian man, Alexander Nwogu, at a gas station on Monday, October 5, 2020.

The Police are trying to identify two men who were involved in the fatal shooting of the young man who is said to be a resident of Blacksburg, VA.

Nwogu graduated in May from Virginia Tech with an engineering degree and had just started working at Ernst & Young,a consulting firm in Northern Virginia.

A police report says that Nwogu suffered blunt trauma to the back of his head and a single gunshot wound to the middle of his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene

The Virginia Tech graduate was found dead after someone called police to report the shooting at about 1:30 a.m.

He was found in the 4900 block of Connecticut Avenue Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Nwogu graduated with a Bachelor’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech in May, 2020.
